Step into a space where creativity flows freely, but expectations are set with care. Here, you'll find every rule, right, and responsibility spelled out in warm, human terms—not legalese.
Review the Booking Agreement Read Our Privacy CommitmentsA handshake is just the beginning. This agreement is your safety net, ensuring your shoot day runs as smoothly as the polished concrete underfoot.
A deposit secures your date and time, calculated as half of your estimated shoot cost. This isn't just a formality—it's our way of knowing you're as committed as we are. The remaining balance is due 48 hours before your session, or the deposit becomes non-refundable.
Your booking covers a strict 8-hour window (or 4-hour half-day). The clock starts when you arrive, not when you're ready to shoot—so plan for setup time. Overtime is billed at $125/hour, invoiced in 15-minute increments, and due on the day of your shoot.
Our Profoto D2s and Hasselblad H6D-400c aren't just tools—they're investments. You're responsible for any damage beyond normal wear, up to the full replacement cost. A $500 damage waiver (optional) caps your liability at $250 per incident—ask about it when booking.
Your team gets 24-hour access to the studio on your shoot day, but only during your booked hours. Lost keys incur a $150 replacement fee, and unauthorized after-hours access voids your insurance coverage. We'll meet you at the door with a smile—and a clipboard.
If you're shooting people or private spaces, signed releases are your responsibility. We'll provide templates, but it's on you to ensure every face and location in your frames is properly documented. No releases? No commercial use—simple as that.
You own the images you create here, but we reserve the right to use them in our portfolio, marketing, and social media—with credit. If you'd rather keep your work private, opt for our 'confidentiality add-on' at booking ($200/session).
Craft services are welcome, but keep it clean. No red wine near the seamless paper, no greasy fingers on the gear, and absolutely no open containers near the electrical panels. We'll provide a 'snack station' with compostable plates and utensils—just clean up after your crew.
Life happens—blizzards, power outages, global pandemics. If we can't host your shoot due to events beyond our control, we'll work with you to reschedule within 90 days. Your deposit stays with us, but we'll waive the rescheduling fee if you rebook within a week.
The rules that keep our creative partnership smooth, fair, and free of surprises.
Invoices are due within 14 days of receipt, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Late payments accrue a 1.5% monthly fee (18% APR), and we reserve the right to pause all services until your balance is cleared. No exceptions—even for 'that one client who always pays late.'
Deposits are non-refundable, but we'll work with you to reschedule if you cancel with 72 hours' notice. Disputes over quality? We'll bring in a third-party photographer of your choosing (at your expense) to review the work. If we're at fault, we'll refund or reshoot—no questions asked.
You own the images you create in our studio, but we retain the rights to our space, branding, and any proprietary techniques we've developed (like our signature 'Valley Light' setup). Use our name or logo in your marketing? Get our written permission first.
Our website may link to external sites, but we don't endorse them—and we're not responsible for their content. Same goes for any vendors or partners you bring into the studio. Do your due diligence, and keep us out of it if things go south.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, and any disputes will be resolved in Multnomah County Circuit Court. We're not fans of litigation, but if it comes to that, we'll fight fair—and we expect the same from you.
We'll notify you of major policy changes via email, and they'll take effect 30 days after posting. Your continued use of our studio after that date means you accept the new terms. No surprises—just transparency.
We reserve the right to terminate your session or refuse future bookings if you violate our policies, harass our team, or damage our studio. No refunds will be issued, and you'll be liable for any costs incurred. Don't be that client.
These terms, along with our Booking Agreement and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between us. No verbal promises or side deals hold water—if it's not in writing, it didn't happen. We're creative, not careless.
How we collect, use, and protect your information—because trust isn't just about great photos.
When you book a session, we ask for your name, email, phone number, and payment details—nothing more than what's needed to reserve your spot and process your invoice. Our website uses cookies to track your session (so you don't have to log in repeatedly) and to serve you relevant content, like blog posts about lighting techniques. We don't sell your data, and we don't share it unless you ask us to.
Your contact info helps us send you booking confirmations, invoices, and the occasional newsletter (which you can opt out of anytime). We may also use your email to follow up after your shoot, asking for feedback or sharing a sneak peek of your images. If you opt into our 'Valley Insider' list, we'll send you monthly tips, studio updates, and exclusive offers—but we'll never spam you.
Your payment details are processed through Stripe, a PCI-compliant platform that encrypts your data end-to-end. We store your contact info in a secure CRM (HubSpot) and back it up nightly to an encrypted server in Portland. Our team signs confidentiality agreements, and access is restricted to those who 'need to know'—like your booking coordinator or the photographer assigned to your shoot.
We use a handful of trusted tools to run our business: Google Analytics for website insights, Mailchimp for newsletters, and Dropbox for file sharing. These services have their own privacy policies, but we've vetted them carefully—and we'll never share your data with a third party without your explicit consent.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Just email us at privacy@cedarvalleyview.com, and we'll respond within 48 hours. You can also opt out of our newsletter by clicking the 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of any email. No hard feelings—we just want to respect your inbox.
Our website uses cookies to remember your preferences (like your preferred studio space) and to analyze traffic patterns. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features—like the booking calendar—may not work properly. We also use Facebook and Google pixels to track conversions, but we've configured them to respect your privacy settings.
Our studio is designed for professional photographers and adult clients. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13, and if we discover we've done so accidentally, we'll delete it immediately. If you're booking a family shoot, we'll need parental consent for any minors in your images.
We'll review this policy annually and update it as needed. Major changes will be posted on our website and emailed to you 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of our services means you accept the new terms—so check back occasionally to stay informed.
Guidelines to keep our studio safe, clean, and ready for your next masterpiece.
The seamless paper and polished floors are pristine for a reason. Remove your shoes before stepping onto the shooting area, or wear the provided shoe covers (we keep a stack by the door). No exceptions—even for 'those really expensive sneakers.'
Our Profoto lights and Broncolor modifiers cost more than your car. Handle them with care—no tossing, no dragging, and absolutely no using them as step stools. If you're unsure how to set up a light, ask. We'd rather spend five minutes showing you than five hours fixing a broken head.
Craft services are welcome, but keep food and drinks in the lounge area only. No open containers near the gear, no crumbs on the seamless, and absolutely no red wine. We'll provide a compost bin and recycling—use them. Leave the space cleaner than you found it.
Smoking and vaping are prohibited inside the studio and within 25 feet of the entrance. We'll provide a sand-filled bucket outside for butts. Dispose of them properly—our neighbors don't appreciate a sidewalk full of cigarette litter.
Our studio is in a mixed-use building, and the sound of a drum set or a screaming match carries. Keep the volume reasonable, especially after 7 PM. If you're shooting video, use headphones for playback. Your neighbors (and our landlord) will thank you.
We love dogs, but unless Fido is the star of your session, leave him at home. Pets can damage equipment, trigger allergies, and distract from the work. If your shoot requires an animal, let us know in advance so we can prep the space (and stock treats).
Your booking includes 30 minutes of cleanup time. Use it to pack up your gear, sweep the floors, and wipe down surfaces. We'll handle the heavy stuff (like moving backdrops), but we expect you to leave the studio in the same condition you found it. No one wants to walk into a mess for their 8 AM shoot.
We'll hold onto lost items for 30 days. After that, they're donated or discarded. Check the 'Lost & Found' bin by the front desk before you leave—we're not responsible for your missing lens cap or favorite scarf.
Life happens. Here's how we handle changes, no hard feelings.
Cancel or reschedule your shoot with at least 72 hours' notice, and we'll refund your deposit in full. No questions asked. We'll even help you find a new date that works for everyone. Just email us at bookings@cedarvalleyview.com or call +81 90-6863-2981.
If you cancel between 48 and 72 hours before your shoot, we'll refund half of your deposit. The other half covers the time we've already blocked off for you—and the client we could've booked in your place. We'll still help you reschedule, but the new date will require a fresh deposit.
Cancel within 48 hours of your shoot, and your deposit is non-refundable. We've already turned away other clients, prepped the space, and set aside gear for you. If you reschedule, you'll need to pay a new deposit—but we'll waive the rescheduling fee if you rebook within 30 days.
If you don't show up for your shoot and don't give us notice, we'll invoice you for the full session fee. No exceptions. We'll also have to reconsider your future bookings—trust is a two-way street.
If a blizzard, wildfire, or other act of God makes it unsafe to travel, we'll work with you to reschedule within 90 days. Your deposit stays with us, but we'll waive the rescheduling fee. Just let us know as soon as possible so we can adjust our plans.
Rescheduling is free if you give us 72 hours' notice. Less than that? There's a $75 fee to cover our admin costs. If you reschedule more than twice, we'll need a new deposit to hold your new date—we can't keep turning away other clients indefinitely.
If you leave your shoot early, we'll refund the unused portion of your session—pro-rated to the nearest hour. But if you've already used more than half of your booked time, no refund will be issued. We'll still deliver your images as promised, but we can't give back time we've already spent.
If you believe we've unfairly withheld a refund, you can appeal in writing within 14 days of your cancellation. We'll review your case and respond within 7 business days. Our decision is final, but we'll always listen with an open mind.
A studio that welcomes everyone, because great art has no barriers.
Our studio is located on the ground floor of a fully accessible building, with a ramp at the entrance and wide doorways (36" minimum) throughout. The shooting area, lounge, and restrooms are all wheelchair-friendly, and we've installed grab bars in the restroom for added safety. If you need assistance moving gear or setting up, just ask—we're happy to help.
We understand that bright lights and loud noises can be overwhelming. Our studio is equipped with dimmable LED panels, and we can provide noise-canceling headphones upon request. If you or someone on your team has sensory sensitivities, let us know when you book—we'll adjust the lighting, temperature, and sound levels to create a comfortable environment.
Service animals are always welcome in our studio, no questions asked. We'll provide a water bowl and a quiet space for breaks, and we'll make sure your animal is comfortable during the shoot. Please let us know in advance so we can prep the space accordingly.
Our website is designed to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards, with high-contrast colors, keyboard navigation, and alt text for all images. We've tested it with screen readers (like JAWS and NVDA) and made sure it's compatible with popular assistive technologies. If you encounter any barriers, email us at accessibility@cedarvalleyview.com—we'll fix it within 48 hours.
We offer multiple ways to get in touch: phone, email, live chat, and even a TTY line (+81 90-6863-2981). If you're deaf or hard of hearing, we can provide an ASL interpreter for your shoot (just give us 72 hours' notice). Our team is trained in basic sign language, and we're always happy to learn more to accommodate your needs.
We believe cost shouldn't be a barrier to creativity. That's why we offer sliding-scale pricing for nonprofits, students, and artists on a budget. We also partner with local arts organizations to provide scholarships and grants for underrepresented creators. Email us at info@cedarvalleyview.com to learn more about our financial aid programs.
We're always looking for ways to improve our accessibility. If you have suggestions or encounter barriers we haven't addressed, let us know. We'll take your feedback seriously and make changes within 30 days. Your input helps us create a studio that works for everyone.
Our team undergoes regular accessibility training, covering everything from disability etiquette to inclusive language. We're committed to creating a welcoming environment for all, and that starts with education. If you'd like to share resources or best practices, we're all ears.
